Main Tasks:

Professional management of reception during the night

Assist the reception with special jobs if necessary

Hourly security patrols through the ship with several check points
-
Supervision of the vessel against unauthorized access
-
Responsible for an secured/locked entrance if the ship is docked
-
Responsible for the safety of the ship against burglary and theft
-
Responsible for the correct lighting on the ship during the night
-
Answering telephone calls
-
Take and carry out personal wake up calls by telephone
-
Deliver and distribute the daily satellite (internet) newspapers to the guests and departments
-
Responsible for the set up of the earlier riser breakfast
-
Support of Internet for the guests
-
Storing empty bottles in their specific crates intended in the designated area in a well organized manner
-
Collect and separate garbage bags from the departments and mess room in compliance with Scylla/Edelweissgastro hygienic concept and HACCP
-
Keep the mess room clean
-
Removing food left over from the waste bins in the kitchen and mess room
-
Shred and dispose of non returnable bottles
-
Check the temperatures of the fridges/freezers in the kitchen
-
Control of both engine rooms on oil and water leaks
-
Orderly handover of work to the next shift
-
Responsible for cleanliness within the reception area, lobby and entrance in cooperation with the housekeeping department

Ironing the bed linen during the afternoon in the laundry
-
Knowledge of the ship and the respective daily program
-
Professional and friendly guest service according to Scylla/Edelweissgastro standard
Qualification Profile:

Excellent organizational and communication skills
-
Guest focused, stress resistant, calm under pressure, team player and with positive appearance
-
Open minded and flexible with high social and inter-cultural competencies
-
Excellent English skills (written & verbal), other languages are an advantage
-
Must work independently, good computer skills
Additional tasks for all crew members:

Assistance with the welcome of guests on the day of embarkation

Participation in the crew show

Assistance with the loading of goods and suitcases

Keep crew mess and your own crew cabin clean

Thorough execution of the safety role on board

General information:
-
Working hours: during the normal operation on board, the crew member will work 7 days a week and app. 70hrs
-
Accommodation: shared room on board with one other crewmember (on some ships with more than one)
-
Uniform: is provided by the company: before arrival the crewmember has to make sure to take black trousers, white shirts, black shoes with him in case the uniform isn’t on board yet
