Hotel Manager
Main Tasks:

Responsible for the entire hotel area on board according to Scylla/Edelweissgastro standards

Final responsibility for guest satisfaction and the corresponding ratings

Final responsibility for team-building and team spirit on board
-
Responsible for the achievement in compliance with Scylla/Edelweissgastro standards on board
-
Responsible for the compliance with the achievement of the predetermined turnover and cost budgets
-
Final responsibility for flawless cleanliness, order and compliance with the Scylla/Edelweissgastro hygienic concept according to HAACP as well as regular general cleaning in all departments
-
Responsible for the flow of information with the cruise director and the navigation crew, as well as the maintenance of friendly cooperation
-
Final responsibility for complaint management, in cooperation with the Scylla/Edelweissgastro head office and the cruise director
-
Final responsibility for dealing carefully with foodstuffs, equipment, machines and cleaning agents
-
Final responsibility for meal samples and their documentation
-
Final responsibility for compliance with the waste concept
-
Final responsibility for care of potted plants and cut flowers as well as the decoration of public areas according to Scylla/Edelweissgastro standard
-
Final responsibility for the preparation of inventories and orders
-
Final responsibility for the handling of all administrative tasks, incl. customs handling
-
Final responsibility for the conduct, control and quality of the trainings, held regularly by the department managers based on Scylla/Edelweissgastro standards

Responsible for a good working atmosphere and teamwork between the department managers
-
Final responsibility for the staff management through the departmental managers
-
Support and coaching for so-called "Aufsteiger" (crewmembers on their way to management positions), in consultation with the Corporate Hotel Manager and Operation Manager

Final responsibility for the manner and appearance of the crew, including dress code during spare time on board Final responsibility for healthy and varied crew meals

Final responsibility for the compliance with safety guidelines in the hotel area

Interdepartmental and networked thinking and action

Honest and open communication with the supervisors, equals, subordinates, the corporate staff as well as the head office in Basel, Belgium and Cyprus

Presence and spot-checks in all departments, also in the crew area
-
Presence in the restaurant during breakfast, lunch and dinner

Final responsibility for professional and friendly guest service according to Scylla/Edelweissgastro standard
Qualification Profile:

Excellent management, organizational and communication skills
-
Guest focused, stress resistant, calm under pressure, team player and with positive appearance
-
Open minded and flexible with high social and inter-cultural competencies
-
Excellent English skills (written & verbal), other languages are an advantage
-
Must work independently, good computer skills
Additional tasks for all crewmembers:

Assistance with the welcome of guests on the day of embarkation

Participation in the crew show

Assistance with the loading of goods and suitcases
-
Keep crew mess and your own crew cabin clean
-
Thorough execution of the safety role on board

Your purpose is to help and create a memorable experience for our guests
General information:

Working hours: during the normal operation on board, the crew member will work 7 days a week and app. 70hrs
-
Accommodation: single room
-
Uniform: is provided by the company: before arrival the crewmember has to make sure to take a dark suit, white shirts and black shoes with him in case the uniform isn’t on board yet
